Superfood Coffee Donuts Recipe

Here’s how to make some delicious coffee donuts infused with superfoods! For the glaze, you’ll find two options below: a chocolate glaze and a vanilla glaze, both featuring our Super Amazing Creamer. Pick whichever sounds best to you, and enjoy!

Ingredients (for 6 Donuts)

For the Donuts

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup light brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup full-fat sour cream

2 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled

1 large egg

3 teaspoons Super Amazing Coffee

For the Glaze: Vanilla Option

1/2 cup powdered sugar

2 scoops Super Amazing Creamer

3 tablespoons water

For the Glaze: Chocolate Option

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon cocoa powder

1 scoop Super Amazing Creamer

2 tablespoons water

Instructions for Donuts

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare your donut mold by spraying it with non-stick spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, mix together the sour cream, melted (but cooled down) butter, egg, and Super Amazing Coffee. Using cooled down melted butter is important, as hot butter can cook the egg and curdle the sour cream.
  4. Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients from step 2 to create a thick dough.
  5. Distribute the batter evenly in the pre-sprayed donut mold, filling each mold to the top.
  6. Place the donuts in the oven, and bake for 15 to 17 minutes, checking around the 10 minute mark to see if the pan should be turned. The donuts are ready when they spring back after lightly pressing into them.
  7. Once baked, remove the donuts from the oven and allow them to cool in the mold for 10 minutes. After cooling in the mold, remove them and place them on a cooling rack to completely cool before glazing.

Instructions for Glaze

  1. In a small bowl (that is large enough to dip the top of a donut into), mix all ingredients from your chosen glaze recipe until the glaze is free of lumps. If the glaze is too thick, add more water until desired consistency is reached.
  2. To glaze the donuts, dip the top of each completely cooled donut into the glaze. Enjoy!
