Bloating happens to everyone, but that doesn’t make it any less annoying! Here are a few super easy tips that will help you reduce bloating to feel comfortable and confident.

If you’ve dealt with bloating (haven’t we all?), you know how frustrating it can be. Not only is it uncomfortable, but it also doesn’t help you feel your most confident. Thankfully, a few easy habits can help cut down on bloat and reduce its likelihood of happening in the first place!

How to Reduce Bloating

Stay Hydrated

Keeping up with your water intake throughout the day is one of the easiest ways to reduce bloating!

There’s a multitude of ways staying properly hydrated keeps bloating at bay. For starters, water helps keep your digestive system functioning properly, which means you’re less likely to deal with bloating. Drinking water before a meal will also help you avoid overeating, which is often the culprit behind bloating. On top of that, water also helps eliminate excess sodium in the body – another common cause of bloating.

Stay on top of your hydration goals by carrying around a reusable water bottle so that you can easily take a sip when needed! For reference, the Mayo Clinic recommends that the average woman should drink 11.5 cups of water daily, and that the average man should have 15.5 cups.

Cut Down on Salt

Speaking of sodium, if you want to eliminate bloating, it’s a good idea to be wary of how much salt you’re getting in your diet. We need some salt in our diet, but an excess makes our body retain extra water, which in turn leads to bloat.

The biggest offender when it comes to taking in more salt than we need is fast food and processed food. With that in mind, check out the sodium levels on nutrition labels, and be mindful of exactly what is going into your body.

If you go a little heavy with the salt when you cook meals at home, try swapping it for spices instead! Cayenne, turmeric, and ginger are just a few of the spices that can transform your meals without contributing to your sodium levels.

Fuel Up with Potassium-Packed Food

Like water, potassium helps eliminate excess sodium in the body. Try adding foods packed with potassium to your diet to help get rid of that bloat-causing sodium! Bananas, avocados, spinach, and sweet potatoes are a few delicious options packed with potassium.

Drink Superfood Tabs Daily

Our Superfood Tabs contain ingredients that help you reduce bloating naturally, while also promoting healthy digestion!

Lemon balm, for example, is an herb that has long been used as a natural remedy to cut down on bloat and support a healthy digestion. Ginger – another superfood ingredient in these tabs – has also been found to reduce bloating and relieve digestive upset. Finally, dandelion also helps get rid of excess water in the body that can contribute to bloating.

Try drinking a Superfood Tab before a meal – or when you’re just feeling bloated – to help keep bloating at bay!

Eliminate Swallowed Air

There are certain habits (many of which you probably aren’t even aware of!) that can lead you to swallow more air, which in turn contributes to bloat.

Research has shown that chewing gum can actually increase your swallowed air intake, so say no next time someone offers you a piece! You can also ditch the straw when drinking, as each sip leads you to swallow air.

You can also limit your swallowed air (and reduce bloating!) by being a bit more mindful when you’re eating. Try your best not to talk while eating, and slow things down a bit if you’re a fast eater. These easy habits will help you cut down on the bloat you feel after eating!
