MCT oil has become super popular in the health and wellness world over the past few years – so much so that we decided to include 5.5 grams per serving of it in our Super Amazing Creamer

That said, a lot of people still don’t quite know what it does and how it benefits us! Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Let’s take a look at everything you should know about MCT oil!

What is MCT Oil, and How Does it Help with Nutrient Absorption?

Okay, here’s a quick science lesson. MCT stands for medium-chain triglyceride, which is a type of fatty acid. This type of triglyceride is shorter in length (with between 6 to 12 carbon atoms), which means it’s more easily digested than long-chain triglycerides (LCT).

MCTs are found in high amounts in coconut oil and palm kernel oil, and can also be found in smaller amounts in whole milk and butter. That said, you’ll get the highest concentration in MCT oil, which includes MCT that has been separated from other fats.

Healthy fats – like MCTs – are crucial for a balanced diet. Fats sometimes get a bad rap, but they help your body absorb nutrients from the foods that you eat. This means that, by adding MCT oil to your diet, you’re getting the maximum absorption of the vital nutrients you’re giving your body!

By the way, this doesn’t mean you have to start downing spoonfuls on MCT oil. If you’re looking for an easy way to add MCTs to your diet, be sure to check out our Super Amazing Creamer! It’s also packed with collagen and hyaluronic acid, which improve skin and boost metabolism!

The Other Benefits of MCT Oil

In addition to helping nutrients absorb into the body, MCTs have some seriously impressive benefits!

For starters, MCTs promotes weight loss. MCTs go straight to our liver for digestion. This means that they are less likely to be stored as fat, further promoting weight loss – especially compared to other fats that aren’t digested as quickly. A recent study also found that, when compared to olive oil, MCT oil was much better at promoting weight and fat loss. Additionally, it helps you feel full, which means it’ll curb cravings!

MCTs also enhance brain and memory function, which will help you perform at your very best! Early studies have even shown that MCTs helped improve memory, learning, and brain function in people with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease.

Finally, MCTs promotes energy. Since MCTs are absorbed into the body quickly, they are able to be used as an immediate source of energy. Yet another reason to start your day with a bit of MCT oil!
